BUTWAL: The newly-appointed Spokesperson of the Government, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Gyawali has reiterated that reappointment of former Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Kul Man Ghising is not permitted by prevalent laws.
Speaking at a press conference organized in Butwal on Friday, Spokesperson Gyawali said that any myth about NEA has no relevance at all and added that the MD would be selected at the best interest of the nation considering their performance appraisal.
“The government is satisfied with Kulman’s performance and is positive towards him, but prevalent laws don’t permit reappointment,” he said.
He further added that even if Ghising is to be made the NEA head, it will be done as per the new laws and added that the issue is under discussion in the cabinet.
Spokesperson Gyawali gave the gesture that the government was somehow not much happy at Ghising’s popularity and said, “Although Kulman’s role had been vital in making the nation load-shedding free, the credit should go to the team and the government as well.”
He denied the rumors that there had been there was any misunderstanding between the Prime Minister KP Oli and Minister for Power Barsha Man Pun on the issue related with the reappointment of Kul Man Ghising.
