Biratnagar Mayor goes in self-quarantine



BIRATNAGAR: Bhim Parajuli, Mayor of Biratnagar Metropolitan City has taken to self-quarantine after finding his close contacts coronavirus positive.

According to the Metropolitan sources, Indra Mani Pokharel, the Chief Administrative Officer of Biratnagar and Mayor Parajuli’s driver were found coronavirus positive on Sunday.

Mayor Parajuli confirmed that he has been to self-quarantine as a precaution because he has been in close contact to the staff who tested coronavirus positive.

He said that he is in self-quarantine in Jain Bhawan.

Biratnagar has seen 1486 coronavirus cases till date and the pandemic is said to be in community-level here.

A total of 557 people have been discharged after recovery whereas 18 people have succumbed to death due to this pandemic in Biratnagar alone.
