Sandeep heads to UAE to play IPL



KATHMANDU: Right-arm leg-spin bowler Sandeep Lamichhane who was in Trinidad and Tobago to play Caribbean Premier League (CPL), 2020, on Saturday left for the United Arab Emirates to play Indian Premier League (IPL) scheduled for September 19.

IPL, which was to take place in India, is being held in UAE due to global COVID-19 pandemic. Sandeep is playing IPL from Delhi Capitals for the three consecutive years.

Delhi Capitals, which is taking on Kings XI Punjab on September 20 in its first match, hired Sandeep for Rs 3.2 million.

Sandeep flew to Trinidad and Tobago on July 30 to play CPL. Jamaica Tallawahs hired him for USD 90,000 to play CPL. In 11 matches under CPL, 2020, he took 12 wickets altogether.

He was placed in the sixth position to take most wickets in CPL. Earlier, he played CPL two times.
