225-bed isolation ward set up in Bhaktapur for COVID infected people



KATHMANDU: The Birdal Battalion of the Nepal Army has set up a 225-bed isolation ward in Bhaktapur.

According to Colonel Shiva Prasad Paudel of Bir Dal Battalion, Suryavinayak Bhaktapur, NA has set up 150 bed isolation ward at Sainik Avasiya Mahavidyalaya Sallaghari and a 75-bed ward in Bir Dal Battalion’s Suryavinayak’s building to facilitate the care and treatment of the NA members combating COVID-19 pandemic coming at the forefront.

According to Colonel Paudel, there have been separate entrance for coronavirus-affected patients and there is a good provision of medicine distribution ward, hot water, distribution of meal and soap, toothpaste and brush required for each person in isolation ward.

The isolation wards will come into operation from Wednesday.

He informed that the 75-bed-capacity isolation ward established at Surya Vinayak based Bir Dal Battalion has already been occupied.

Paudel further shared that Birendra Military Hospital, Chhauni would manage for the required medics and food supply whereas the overall management including the the security and safety at the wards will be looked after by Bir Dal Battalion itself.
