Province 1 records four COVID-19 deaths, 54 fresh cases



MORANG: Province 1 recorded four coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, two women of Biratnagar Metropolitan City and one man each of Budhiganga and Dhanpalthan Rural Municipality of Morang have died.

The coronavirus death toll in the province has reached 39 as of Saturday afternoon.

Similarly, the coronavirus infection was confirmed in 54 more people in Province 1 on Saturday. Of them, 34 are from Morang, 13 from Sunsari, five from Jhapa, one from Ilam and one permanent resident from another province.

The COVID-19 caseload in the province has reached 3,879 with the new cases.

Meanwhile, 16 people were discharged from Koshi Hospital COVID-19 treatment centre.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, the number of people discharged after recovering from the infection has reached 1,835.

A total of 97,221 samples have been tested until Saturday.
