KATHMANDU: Three Nepali women taken hostage for the last 10 months in India have been rescued.
Afanta Nepal, a social organization in Nepal, took the initiative to rescue three Nepali women including a minor girl amid coronavirus pandemic.
Afanta Nepal, Maheshpur branch (Nawalparasi West) rescued theme from an orchestra company based in Maharajgunj, India with the help of people’s representatives, Nepal Police and India Police.
Originally from Chitwan, the females aged 22, 17 and 4 have been safely rescued from India, said Padma Acharya, the chief of Afanta Nepal, Maheshpur branch.
They had been lured to India with promises of lucrative jobs 10 months ago.
