Bhairabnath’s chariot breaks down overnight



KATHMANDU: The pinnacle of Biswanath Bhairabnath’s chariot has broken down. Its roof has come off, some artistic supports and props have fallen down. The chariot which was renovated by Guthi Sansthan Bhaktapur for a month collapsed overnight.

Locals have been infuriated after Bhairabnath’s chariot, which is the main attraction of weeklong Biske Jatra of Bhaktapur, collapsed overnight before the main day of Bisket Jatra.

Around Rs 2 million had been allocated for the celebration of Bisket Jatra including the renovation of Bhairabnath’s chariot, according to the office.
