17-bed isolation center established in Tokha

KATHMANDU: In view of rising cases of coronavirus infection in the town, Tokha Municipality in Kathmandu has prepared an isolation center with 17 beds.

The isolation center established at the building of Chandeshwori Primary Health Care Centre was brought into operation from Saturday.

Marking the beginning of the isolation facility, Mayor of Tokha Municipality Prakash Adhikari hoped that the isolation center would be supportive for appropriate management and treatment of the coronavirus infected people.

With the establishment of the isolation center, all the health care services being provided from Chandeshwori Primary Health Care Centre would be conducted from the emergency service building of Ward No. 2 of the Municipality from 24 August.

Prior to this, Chandeshwori Primary Health Care Centre was providing the services of health checkups, family planning, tuberculosis treatment and some others.

Municipality’s Spokesperson Bachchuram Basyal shared that the isolation center’s capacity would be expanded up to 100 beds by considering the flow of patients in the coming days.

So far, 92 individuals from the municipality tested positive for the coronavirus while 29 returned home after winning the battle against the virus.
