4 districts in Sudurpaschim Province issue prohibitory order

DHANGADHI: Four districts in Sudurpashchim Province have issued prohibitory order in various local levels amid the rise of coronavirus cases in the province.

Kailali and Kanchanpur districts have issued prohibitory orders effective from midnight August 20 throughout the district whereas Dadeldhura and Baitadi have issued such orders in the local levels in the district headquarters and the levels near those headquarters.

The prohibitory order in Kailali and Kanchanpur is effective till August 30 whereas the same order will remain effective in Baitadi district headquarter till August 31.

Dadeldhura administration has issued the prohibitory order till August 28.

Sudurpaschim fears the pandemic transmission provided the people’s mobility is not restricted as it is the season for celebration of Teej and Gaura parva in the region.

According to Laxmi Upadhyaya, the Health Officer in the Dhangadhi Submetropolitan City, the city witnessed 30 fresh cases of coronavirus on Friday alone.

She informed that there are 36 active cases including 15 cases in females and 21 in males. A total of 132 people have recovered from the pandemic in this Sub-Metropolitan City so far.

Likewise, the Dasharath Chand Municipality in Baitadi has issued prohibitory order from August 20 to August 31.

Dadeldhura has issued prohibitory order partially letting the shops and services related with most essential goods and supply go in operation even during the prohibitory period.

It has issued such orders to be effective from August 20 to August 28 and has allocated 5 am-9 am in the morning and 5 pm to 7 pm in the evening as the time for such most essential services.

With the increase in the number of home returnees from India, Sudurpaschim Province has become vulnerable to coronavirus pandemic once again.

Doti district has seen 844 cases of coronavirus pandemic out of which 576 have returned home after recovery. There are 268 active cases in the district.

According to the Province Health Directorate, Kalali has got 158 active cases till Friday evening.

The district has seen 1460 cases of coronavirus out of which 1298 have returned home after recovery. Kailali witnessed 4 deaths from the pandemic.

Similarly, the Directorate source claim that Kanchanpur has seen 621 coronavirus cases out of which 41 are still active.

Likewise, Dadeldhura has got 10 active cases out of 309 identified cases whereas Achham has 82 active cases out of 795 total cases of coronavirus pandemic in the district.

Baitadi which has seen 326 cases so far has 5 active case of the pandemic whereas Bajhang has got 173 active cases out of 285 number of coronavirus cases identified so far.

Bajura and Darchula have got eight and seven active cases in the districts. Bajura has seen 452 and Darchula has seen 43 cases of pandemic till Friday evening.
