NRB directs all remittance companies in the valley to continue services
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed all remittance companies in Kathmandu valley to continue operations during the prohibitory order period in the valley.
Issuing a notice on Friday, NRB has urged all the remittance companies in the valley to ensure continuation of service abiding the coronavirus prevention and control standard set by the government.
The central bank has asked the remittance service providers to continue operation in coordination with the local administration so that remittance service continues without disturbance.
The NRB directed remittance service-providing companies to make arrangements to ensure hassle-free services so that the remittance send by the Nepali citizens in abroad employment can be withdrawn easily in the situation of lockdown.
The central bank has also directed the remittance service providing companies to open their counter for paying the money remitted by Nepalis on foreign employment to their families
Govt decides to resume regular flights from Sept 1 with preconditions
The government has decided to resume regular international flights from some countries from September 1 with some preconditions.
A Cabinet meeting decided to allow one flight a day for Nepali citizens and diplomats and staff of foreign missions in Nepal, according to government Spokesperson Minister for Finance, Communications and Information Technology Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada.
Passengers from Malaysia, the UAE, South Korea, Thailand, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Europe and the United States will be allowed to come through such flights.
According to Minister Dr. Khatiwada, such passengers must bring a certificate of COVID-19 negative 72 hours prior to boarding the aircraft, barcode or print copy of the online form filled on the website of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center and stay at the hotel quarantine for at least seven days.
The meeting also decided to continue the rescue flights from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, etc. for the rescue of the migrant workers.
Flipkart enters Nepal’s e-commerce market thru partnership with Sastodeal
India’s e-commerce giant Flipkart and Nepal’s e-commerce company Sastodeal have entered a partnership that will allow customers to purchase items at Flipkart from Nepal.
Under the partnership, Sastodeal will host over 5,000 products from Flipkart marketplace sellers operating across the categories of babycare and kids, audio devices, men’s clothing, women’s ethnic wear, and sports and fitness, among others, in turn opening access to Nepalese customers, a statement said.
Flipkart Private Brands – MarQ and SmartBuy – will also be listed on the Sastodeal platform with a focus on categories such as electronics, home appliances/home decor and furnishings.
The partnership with Sastodeal will build the long-term development of the e-commerce industry in both countries, it added.
