Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 127 after man dies in Rupandehi



KATHMANDU: A man who died in Devdaha Municipality of Rupandehi district has tested COVID-19 positive, taking Nepal’s tally from the pandemic to 127.

A 70-year-old man of Devdaha-3, Sispur who was undergoing treatment at Devdaha Medical College in Bhaluhi of Devdaha -9 died on Wednesday.

His swab sample was tested at Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal, which came positive.

According to his relatives, the man had been suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes and paralysis since long.

Devdaha Municipality has recorded two COVID-19 deaths so far.

Nepal’s death toll from the coronavirus had reached 126 Thursday afternoon after six deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing this afternoon, Spokesperson at the Ministry Dr. Jageshwor Gautam had said that one woman from Kathmandu, one man from Makwanpur, one man from Saptari and one woman and two men from Saptari have died of the coronavirus.

Nepal confirmed 707 new cases in the last 24 hours that took the national tally to 29,645,

Meanwhile, 264 have recovered across the country so far. As many as 17,964 have been discharged from hospitals and isolation centers in the last 24 hours, he shared.
