Woman thrashed to death in a scuffle



SIRAHA: A woman died when she was thrashed in a scuffle that flared up from an issue of the pathway in Arnama rural municipality-5, Krishnapur of Siraha district.

Sita Devi Raut, 50, of Krishnapur who was seriously injured in the physical fighting between the locals died while receiving treatment, police said.

Raut had sustained deep injuries on her face and internal body parts from baton charge and breathed her last on Wednesday while undergoing treatment in the District Hospital Siraha.

Immediately following the incident, a police team from the District Police Office Siraha arrested Baldev Saha, 47, Kamalesh Raut, 38, Leela Devi Raut, 46, and Sulekha Raut, 22, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Binod Ghimire.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, he said.
