NEA makes Rs 5 billion accumulated profit

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has earned an accumulated profit of around Rs 5 billion in the last four years.

NEA has been continuously earning profit since the Fiscal Year 2016/17 and has made a profit of Rs 4.87 billion till the fiscal year 2019/20.

According to the financial statement made public on Monday on the occasion of its 35th anniversary, NEA had accumulated loss of Rs. 34.61 billion in FY 2015/16.

The power authority has been making profit after the appointment of Kulman Ghising as the Managing Director. NEA has managed to earn a profit of Rs. 11.06 billion last fiscal year.
