Two succumb to coronavirus at Patan Hospital



KATHMANDU: Two persons succumbed to coronavirus at the Patan Hospital on Friday.

Director at the hospital, Dr Bishnu Sharma informed that a woman, 41, and a male of 45 years of age died today.

The woman hailing from Sunauli was suffering from cervical cancer. She died this morning.

Likewise, the man from Sarlahi died at 9: 30 this morning.

Both of them were being treated in isolation after testing positive for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, a COVID-19 patient undergoing treatment succumbed to coronavirus on Thursday night at Patan Hospital.

According to the hospital’s Director Dr. Bishnu Sharma, the 45-year-old man from Birgunj was also suffering from diabetics and hypertension.

He was diagnosed with the coronavirus at Star Hospital and referred to the hospital.

Similarly, a 25-year-old man undergoing treatment at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences also died due to coronavirus.

A spokesperson of the hospital, Dr. Dinesh Sapkota, informed that the Siraha resident was suffering from kidney-related ailments.

He had been undergoing dialysis for two years. The man, who was undergoing dialysis at Janakpur Hospital, was referred to Dharan after he tested positive for coronavirus.

With the deaths, Nepal’s death toll from coronavirus has reached 70.
