Over 40 coronavirus patients missing in UP’s Ghazipur

LUCKNOW: As many as 40 coronavirus patients have gone “missing” in Ghazipur of Uttar Pradesh, India with the local administration saying those missing provided wrong phone numbers and addresses to the labs where they gave their swab samples.

In a letter sent to the additional district magistrate, Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr KK Verma stated that at least 42 people, who tested positive for coronavirus, are missing in the district.

Authorities said it has become difficult for them to track them as they do not have their correct mobile numbers.

According to Indian media reports, some Covid-19 patients had been missing since last 15 days.

Ghazipur has so far reported 10 Covid-19 related deaths, while active cases stand at 505.
