Heavy rains occur in various parts of country



KATHMANDU: With low pressure monsoon trough, heavy rains are occurring in various parts of the country since Tuesday night.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Department (MFD), places including Tikapur, Chisapani of Kailali district have witnessed downpour on Tuesday night.

People living along the banks of Kandra, Mohana, Dhuraha, Khuttiya, Syauli, Chaudhar rivulets as the rain is likely to continue.

Similarly, Dailekh, Surkhet and their surrounding areas witnessed heavy rains continuously for six hours.

Light to moderate rains are occurring in various parts of the country with partly to general cloudy weather.

Heavy rains coupled with thunderstorms and lightning are expected in Kailali, Dadeldhura, Doti, Achham and Mahottari, Dhanusha and Saptari districts of Province 2 this afternoon.
