KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has taken action against former Joint General Secretary Govinda Raj Joshi, Mahasamiti member Pushkar Nath Ojha and Dadeldhura District Office Secretary Ram Bahadur Bista for violating the party’s discipline.

A meeting of the NC Central Disciplinary Committee on Saturday decided to expel Joshi and Ojha from the party for five years and Bista for three years.

A statement issued on Saturday said that the final explanation was not satisfactory and the evidence (audio/video) obtained by the disciplinary committee were found against the party constitution.

Joshi had filed his candidacy against leader Ram Chandra Poudel from Tanuhan-1 in the last election. However, his candidacy was rejected as a corruption case was pending.

Similarly, Ojha was accused of sabotaging to defeat NC’s President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s wife Arzu Deuba.
