BIRGUNJ: Police have raided the National Medical College in Birgunj and seized some 1,900 RDT kits.

In the RDT test conducted in the college, four people were found to be infected with coronavirus.

The issue came to the fore after one of them tested positive for COVID-19 in the PCR test. The local administration has recovered 1,900 RDT kits.

A hospital source has informed that the emergency room and some wards of the hospital have been closed and disinfected after the coronavirus was confirmed in one person in the college.

Earlier, the college was dragged into controversy after the body of a patient from Bara was given to the concerned family to perform final rites before the PCR test result arrived.

The government had promised to test the coronavirus through the PCR method after questions were raised about the reliability of the RDT test.

On the other hand, it has been found that medical colleges have been conducting RDT tests at high cost.
