Chartered flights bringing Nepalis from abroad today



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Airlines and Himalaya Airlines are operating nine flights to rescue stranded Nepalis from various foreign countries today.

The chartered flights of two airlines companies rescued as many as 1,080 Nepalis stranded in various countries due to COVID-19 pandemic on Sunday.

As many as 10 chartered international flights took place at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Sunday.

Meanwhile, six bodies of Nepalis who died in foreign countries were bought to Nepal.

While Nepal Airlines brought 418 passengers (266 from Dubai and two corpses of Nepalis and 152 from Doha and two corpses of Nepalis), Himalayan Airlines carried 310 passengers (155 each from Abu Dhabi and Doha).

Likewise, Malindo Air ferried 354 passengers from Kuala Lumpur.
