Police posts at trilateral border point in sorry state

DARCHULA: Security forces deputed near the trilateral border point in the district are compelled to perform their duties sitting under the tents in such rainy season.

The police for border security at Nepal, China and India border point near Chhangru of Vyas Rural Municipality-1 and Chhayalek have been working despite adversity.

Police staying at Chhayalek inspect the Sino-Nepal border points every week, said the police post In-charge Harka Singh Mahat. He added that they visit the Nepal-China border pillar every week.

According to him, forceful wind frequently blows the roof of police post. They have no option but to sit under open sky. The post office building is partially covered with corrugated zinc sheets and tents. He also shared that there is a shortage of firewood to cook foods.

Chhangru Police Post is also facing the same problem due to dilapidated building. The security personnel are living in a cowshed for lack of basic amenities.

Similarly, Darchula Police Office Chief DSP Padam Bahadur Bista shared that he had reported about the condition of these police post to the higher level.
