NCP Khumaltar meet decides to expedite SC meeting



KATHMANDU: A majority of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Secretariat members have come up with a voice that the Standing Committee (SC) meeting must be given continuity at any cost.

The meeting held at the NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s residence in Khumaltar this morning decided to expedite the SC meeting, said a Secretariat member.  The meeting which started at 9 am lasted for two hours.

NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal, NCP Vice Chairman Bam Dev Gautam, Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Ram Bahadur Thapa were present in the meeting.

Currently, Prime Minister KP Oli, NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal are holding a tripartite meeting in Baluwatar to narrow down their differences on some thorny issues in the party.

“The Standing Committee meeting has been scheduled for Friday. The SC meeting must take place tomorrow at any cost. This is the decision of the Kumaltar meeting,” said a leader privy to the meeting.

He further said that pressures will be piled on Prime Minister Oli to this end.

The SC meeting which began at June 24 has been postponed for time and again. It has been postponed for six times already since June 30.
