IOC ‘fully committed’ to staging Olympics in 2021



SWITZERLAND: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) says it is committed to staging the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021.

According to the IOC, it is considering several scenarios to take place safely.

IOC President Thomas Bach said, via a video conference that  IOC remains fully committed to celebrating Tokyo 2020 next year in July and August.

The IOC and Japan had postponed the Tokyo Games until 2021 in March because of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Bach, the IOC’s coordination commission had reported a ‘good work in progress’.
