KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party, has asked the government and the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to make their institutional positions clear on the Prime Minister KP Oli’s controversial statement on Ayodhya.

The party said that PM Oli has lost his moral as well as political grounds to lead the government.

Issuing a press statement today, the NC expressed its concerns about PM Oli’s recent remarks.

A statement signed by NC Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said that NC expresses serious concern and disagreement with PM Oli’s remarks on Ayodhya and his attitude.

The party has said that if PM Oli’s remarks are individual and do not represent the government and his party, his remarks proves that PM Oli has lost his moral and political grounds to govern the country.

“We feel it our duty to ask in public; provided the statement made by the PM does not represent the country and the ruling party, is the post of PM a feudal one or the one bearing responsibility of the country?” the statement made public by Spokesperson Sharma questioned.

It should be noted that PM Oli had on Monday said India had encroached upon cultural facts while claiming that Ayodhya actually in in Nepal, no in India.
