KATHMANDU: Man Bahadur Bishwokarma, joint secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has been promoted to Secretary.
A meeting of the cabinet held on Monday evening decided to promote Bishwokarma to the post of a Secretary.
He is the first person from the Dalit as well as the Bishwokarma community to become the Secretary of the Government of Nepal.
He entered the government service in 2047 BS.
He was recently the Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development of Karnali Province. A few months ago, he was transferred to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Bishwokarma holds a Ph. D in microfinance.
