Murderer held after 14 years of crime



KATHMANDU:  A murderer of sawmill owner has been arrested after 14 years of committing crime. Jaykishor Saha originally from Sarlahi district and the employee at sawmill had killed the couple running sawmill at Sitapaila, Kathmandu, and absconding after the crime.

Nati Kaji Subedi and his spouse Sanu Subedi, originally from Dangihat of Morang district, were killed by employees Jay Kishor Saha from Sarlahi and Pratap Rana from Banke. Since the crime perpetrated on January 4, 2007, they had been absconding.

Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police arrested Saha recently from Indian border. However, Rana is still absconding. Information to this was shared by Nepal Police on Monday.

Sawmill owner Subedi had scolded Saha for doing wrong in the mill. Over it, the Subedi couple and a son were attacked with sharp weapons. The couple succumbed to injuries, while the son survived the tragedy.

Both of the accused ones had been staying in Lucknow, India, for two years after the crime. After Rana left him, Saha changed his identity as Jay Sharma and even got Adhar Card in India, according to Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police, Sahakul Bahadur Thapa.

The CIB had kept the investigation in priority and acted in close contact to the son Bilav Subedi who survived the tragedy. With the coordination at international level, the identity of the criminal was ascertained and arrested.

Now, another accomplice will also be held soon with intensified investigation, Thapa added. RSS
