Janata Samajbadi Party ‘busy in internal discussion’ on MCC

KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) says it is yet to make its position clear on the widely-talked Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact.

Issuing a joint statement on behalf of the party, Chairmen duo Mahantha Thakur and Upendra Yadav claimed that their party has not made any formal decision on MCC.

“We have currently initiated internal discussion on the issue,” the statement said adding that the party would soon make it formal stance clear on the MCC reiterating that the party leaders are engaged in internal discussion.

Meanwhile, the party has also lambasted the news that presented a negative report about MCC comparing it with ‘East India Company.

A report prepared by a task force of the JSP’s foreign affairs wing had presented on Sunday a detailed report on MCC specifying the strengths and weakness of MCC Compact.
