Monsoon-triggered landslide kills two in Tanahun; five missing



TANAHUN:  Two people have been buried to death in the landside triggered by monsoon rains in Myagde rural municipality and Byas municipality in Tanahun district.

Similarly, five people have gone missing in the landslide in Rishing rural municipality, said District Police Office, Tanahun.

Laxmi BK, 17, of Myagde rural municipality, Belautedanda has died after being crushed by the wall of her house that caved in due to the landslide, according to DSP Yuba Raj Timalsina.

Similarly, another person has been buried to death in Byas municipality-7, Kalesti, whose identity is yet to be ascertained.

Five people of a family have gone missing after their house was washed away in Rishing rural municipality-8.

They are Bhesh Bahadur Thapa, 30, Nanu Maya Thapa, 29, five-year-old Amisha Thapa, Mahadev Thapa, 22, and 19-year-old Manisara Thapa, said police.
