KATHMANDU: The Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has been postponed for a week.
The SC meeting has been postponed for seven days citing the loss of people’s lives and property in the floods and landslides triggered by incessant rains across the country, informed NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
Tweeting a message today, Shrestha said the SC meeting has been postponed for seven days in view of the floods and landslides including the one in Sindhupalchowk district where people are waiting for relief and rescue work.

The whole party rank and file has been directed to participate in the relief and rescue work for the people affected by the landslides, said Shrestha.
Earlier, the SC meeting slated for July 8 had been scheduled for 11 am today.
The intra-party feud of the ruling NCP has deepened further after most of the Standing Committee members demanded resignation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli from both of his posts.
The SC meeting has been postponed for time and again to seek solution to the intra-party wrangling after the party inched closer to the verge of split.
