Home Minister Thapa, Bhusal meet NCP Chair Dahal at Khumaltar

KATHMANDU: The meeting between two chairmen of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) KP Sharma Oli, who is also the Prime Minister of Nepal and Pushpa Kamal Dahal could not take place on Thursday.

The one-on-one meeting between the two chairmen had been expected to narrow down the differences subsisting in the party prior to the Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the party.

The SC meeting has been called for 11 am today. Amidst uncertainty over the SC meeting scheduled for Friday, SC member Ram Bahadur Thapa, who is also the Home Minister, met with Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter’s residence in Khumaltar on Thursday evening.

Thapa urged Dahal to come into terms with Oli and iron out the ongoing differences at the earliest.

Similarly, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ghanashyam Bhusal also reached Khumaltar and urged Dahal to resolve the intra-party feud even by taking some more time if required.
