Monsoon-induced landslide disrupts Beni-Jomsom road



MYAGDI: The Beni-Jomsom road that connects hilly districts Myagdi and Mustang has been disrupted by landslides induced by monsoon rains.

Beni-Jomsom-Korala road section which is the lifeline for Gandaki Pradesh has been disrupted after landslides occurred in various places along the road last night.

The incessant rain that started since Monday night has caused landslides at Nagdhunga, at Duwari of Danabari, Khola, Guithe and Mahabhir of Histan along the road in Annapurna rural municipality-2.

The people’s movement has been disrupted due to the rain-caused landslides.

The disrupted road cannot be brought into operation unless the rain comes to a pause, said Indra Singh Sherchan, a tourism entrepreneur.
