Monsoon-triggered landslide buries 17 houses in Bajhang



KATHMANDU: As many as 17 houses have been buried by a landslide that occurred at Mallesi village in Kedarsyun rural municipality in Bajhang district on early Saturday.

The landslide occurred at 2 am today, according to Lekh Raj Rawal, the spokesperson for Kedarsyun rural municipality.

A rescue team police from Jhota police post has left for the incident site, informed Rawal.

“Many people are feared buried to death,” said Rawal, adding, “Dead bodies of four women and three men have been reportedly recovered. We are also heading to the incident site. We are trying to verify the information.”

A total of 28 family members were staying in 17 households, according to Rawal.
