Ruling party lawmakers ask for CM Poudel’s resignation



KATHMANDU: The interlocutors in the parliamentary meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have demanded resignation of Chief Minister of Bagmati Pradesh Dormani Poudel.

Lawmakers of the ruling party sought the resignation of Chief Minister Poude saying that the government’s performance is not satisfactory.

In the parliamentary meeting that is continuing for the last four days, Lawmakers loyal to Madav Kumar Nepal and former CPN (Maoist Center) lawmakers asked Paudel to step down arguing that the government under his leadership could not perform effectively and failed to implement the budget.

Further, they also came down heavily on Poudel alleging that the budget for the fiscal year 2020/21 is chief minister-centric.

According to a lawmaker privy to the meeting, the lawmakers asked Chief Minister Poudel to step down paving the way for the solution to the current intra-party dispute.
