NCP Chairman Dahal consults with President after House prorogued abruptly

KATHMANDU: As the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) internal politics gets complicated, party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal met President Bidhya Devi Bhandari at the Office of President on Thursday afternoon.

Dahal had reached Shital Niwas, the President’s Office, as the cabinet abruptly recommended the President to prorogue the budget session.

Chairman Dahal consulted with President Bhandari for about an hour at a time when the ruling party wrangling had touched a new height.

Prior to this, Dahal along with party senior leaders had held a separate meeting with Prime Minister Oli.

After the brief meeting with PM Oli, Chairman Dahal met some of the Standing Committee members and then headed towards the President’s Office.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Oli had met with President Bhandari.

Meanwhile, Chairman Dahal held talks with Standing Committee members considered close to Prime Minister Oli at his residence in Khumaltar.
