Govt to provide Rs 200 to 15,000 cash relief to COVID-19 people



KATHMANDU: The government is making preparations to provide cash relief to the COVID-19 infected persons for their treatment.

The Ministry for Health and Population submitted a proposal at the Council of Ministers to this effect.

Chief of Policy and Planning at the Ministry Dr Gunaraj Lohani said the government will provide Rs 200 to 15,000 as cash donation to the person infected with coronavirus as per the proposal.

According to the proposal, those who are staying in home quarantine will get Rs 200 per day, those in isolation centers will receive Rs 2,000, those undergoing treatment at the hospital will get Rs 3,500, those who are recommended for ICU will get Rs 7,000 and Rs 15,000 to those categorized as critical.

A total of 2.9 billion has been allotted for the treatment of the COVID-19 infected people so far.
