National unity in favor of nationality historical: Nepali Congress

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) has dubbed the endorsement of the constitution amendment proposal presented in the federal parliament to include the original map inserting Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani area in the Schedule-3 of the Nepal Constitution with wider consensus as historically important move.

Issuing a press release today, NC spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma said the national campaign for returning Nepali territory has entered the second phase with the endorsement of the new map today.

It was spectacular for the government to utilize the national unity in a more mature way to establish an inalienable right of Nepal at Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani areas following the national unity and solidarity articulated in favor of nationality today and the government should demonstrate this capacity, stated in a press release.

The main opposition party has urged the government to initiate high-level diplomatic efforts in an effective and result-oriented manner.

When there comes the issue of nationalism or any agenda of national importance, NC has taken its stand through its official/institutional decision and clear thoughts, Sharma said in the release. The party would demonstrate consistent commitment to stand bold on the national issues in the future as well, the press release reads.
