KATHMANDU:  The government is making preparations to change modality of the ongoing lockdown after it affected the normal life of the people.

A cabinet meeting has been called at Baluwatar at 2 pm to discuss the modality of the lockdown today.

The meeting will dwell on the modality of the lockdown, public health crisis among other contemporary issues, according to a minister.

The prolonged lockdown has badly hit the economic activities in the country, leaving the normal of the people in predicament.

The government has been under pressure to find an alternative to the lockdown, keeping the COVID-19 under control at the same time.

People have started opening shops and traffic can be seen on the roads in violation of the lockdown after the prolonged lockdown created difficulties.

Prime Minister has directed the High Level Coordination Committee for Prevention and Control of COVID-19 to prepare the modality of the lockdown following consultation with the experts.
