Mobilization of Army not needed in border: DPM Pokharel



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwar Pokahrel has said that the border dispute surfaced between Nepal and India would be resolved through talks.

Minister Pokharel argued that such border disputes could be resolved through diplomatic dialogue and mobilization of Army was not necessary for the same.

Minister Pokharel added that the Ministry was alert on the responsibility of the Army in protecting national sovereignty, territorial territory and maintaining national unity including providing international border security.

He also said that the Ministry was prioritizing the modernization, professionalization and strengthening of the national army.
