Coronavirus cases in Karnali Province stand at 587



SURKHET: The total number of people infected with COVID-19 in Karnali Province has reached 587.

Coronavirus has been confirmed in 98 more people on Saturday, according to the Health Services Division under the Ministry of Social Development.

According to Dr. Laxminarayan Tiwari, Chief of the Health Services Division 44 people were confirmed to have an infection in tests at the Karnali Institute of Health Sciences and 54 in tests carried out at the Province Avian Disease Investigation Laboratory, Surkhet

The PCR test at Surkhet and Jumla confirmed coronavirus infection in 44 people, including 29 in Dailekh’s Dullu Municipality-3 and Ward No. 1 of Dailekh’s Mahavu Village Municipality, said Dr. Tiwari.

Similarly, the infection has been confirmed in four persons including a security guard of Area Police Office at Jajarkot’s Barekot and one case in Dolpa’s Jagadulla.

According to him, one case been confirmed in Birendranagar Municipality, four in Bheriganga Municipality, one in Gurbhakot Municipality and three in Panchpuri Municipality of Surkhet.

Similarly, coronavirus has been confirmed in 38 people of wards 1-7 of Salyan in Vangad Kupinde Municipality, according to the Health Services Division.

A total of seven women, including two from Salyan’s Vangad Kupinde Municipality, one from Jajarkot’s Barekot Municipality and four from Dailekh’s Mahabu Municipality, have been found to have coronavirus infection, according to public data of the Division on Saturday.
