20 arrested on charge of theft



KANCHANPUR: Police here have arrested 20 persons from different places on the charge of theft. Police teams deputed from District Police Office Kanchanpur arrested them from different places of Bhimduttanagar.

They were arrested with 42 bicycles reportedly stolen during ongoing lockdown, said DSP Rabindra Nath Poudel. He added that they were found selling the bicycles at Majhgaun, Bhasi, Sisaiya, Bichpuri among other places.

DSP Poudel added that the arrested are Jitendra Bam, Roshan Damai, Santosh Okhada, Navin Karki among others.
Similarly, persons involved in stealing broiler chicken and water pumping machines were also arrested.

The arrested ones are kept at custody. The arrested are the locals of Bhimdutt Municipality, Bedkot Municipality and Lamkichuha Municipality of Kailali district.

Meanwhile, a 40-year-old Jeevan Bhatta of Bhimditta Municiplaity-4 was arrested with brown sugar. Bhatta, a permanent resident of Darchula was living in Sambjimandi of Bhimdutta Municipality. Police confiscated 15.35 gram of brown sugar from Bhatta. RSS
