Health worker assaulted, critically injured in Doti



DOTI: A group of three persons has attacked assistant health worker Ramesh Kunwar. Kunwar who works at the Dankot Health Post at Shikhar municipality-9 of the district has sustained serious injuries in the attack.

He was assaulted by three people who appeared to be drunk. Kunwar was going to the health post carrying medical goods.

It is said the assailants pelted stones at the health worker verbally abusing him saying he would be transmitting coronavirus while walking on the way passing through the village.

Police has arrested the three assailants and initiated investigation into the case.

They are Nabin Khatri, Roshan Khatri and Tej Luhar of Shikhar municipality-7, Information Officer at the District Police Office Doti, Inspector Karna Bohara, said. Kunwar was taken to the Dadelhura Hospital for treatment and the hospital has referred him to the Trauma Centre in Kathmandu for advanced treatment.
