SARLAHI: A team of Armed Police Force (APF) deployed at the Nepal-India border in Sarlahi opened blank fire after a group of Indian nationals tried to enter Nepal.

A group of about 30-40 people tried to enter Nepal from Dashagaja area of ​​Bishnu Ruralmunicipality-2 Pakdi of Sarlahi. The APF opened fired shots after the group tried to snatch arms from them.

According to Sarlahi Chief District Officer, Mohan Bahadur GC, a group of Indian smugglers were trying to enter Nepal with goods. They were stopped by an armed team deployed at the border.

Then they returned after they were stopped at the border. Later, the group came back with other Indian nationals. “At around 6 am on Sunday morning, the group tried to surround our security personnel, and we opened fired to scattered them,” GC said.

The situation has become normal after the Indian group dispersed from the site.
