10,000 voters electing new NBA leadership today



KATHMANDU: The election of Nepal Bar Association (NBA), an umbrella organization of all lawyers in Nepal, is being held on Saturday to elect a new leadership. A total of 10, 313 voters are  casting their votes to elect the central working committee of the NBA.

According to the election committee of the NBA, of the total voters, 6,800 will cast their votes on the premises of the Supreme Court while the rest will cast their votes at 34 polling centers of various districts.

The tough competition is expected between two groups – Progressive and Professional Lawyers Association Nepal (PPLAN) close to ruling Nepal Communist Party and Democratic Lawyers Association Nepal (DLAN), which is considered close to Nepali Congress.
