PM Oli appeals for restructuring world economic system



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has urged the world community to establish an inclusive world economic system doable for all big and small or rich and poor countries.

While addressing a United Nations level virtual dialogue on investment for development after COVID-19 and its aftermath last night, PM Oli argued such an economic system would help uplift the whole economic system across the globe.

The dialogue was organized by Secretary-General of the United Nations and Prime Ministers of Canada and Jamaica, PM Oli said that the vaccine developing against COVID-19 should be tested, verified and made be affordable to all.
He was for the investment in social sectors to get rid of such pandemics.

The PM also opined for making multilateral agencies active to tackle such situations.
Internal resources could be mobilized in such situations and the international trade system made impartial, neutral and justifiable, according to PM Oli.

None should be involved in trade war and protectionism, the PM said, extending gratitude to the World Health Organization (WHO) for its guidance in such a pandemic situation. PM Oli also welcomed the roles and initiations of G20 nations and the International Monetary Fund of late. RSS
