KATHMANDU: Expressing solidarity with people affected by the disaster in Nepal, Indian state of Sikkim has sent essential relief and health supplies.
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Gole on Monday saw off a team from the ‘Sikkim Krantikari Morcha’ carrying relief and health supplies under the “Sikkim for Nepal” campaign.
Chief Minister Gole said the initiative reflects Sikkim’s sense of humanity, compassion and brotherhood during a time of disaster. He said that in these difficult times, Sikkim has united with the people of Nepal and extended a helping hand to those in need.
Expressing condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the disaster, Gole conveyed sympathy to those affected and the victims. He also expressed full solidarity with the people of Nepal during this difficult time.
“Our prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones, our thoughts are with those who are suffering, and our heartfelt solidarity remains with the people of Nepal as they begin the difficult journey of recovery and rebuilding,” he said.
