The Division has warned that moderate rainfall and snowfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, may continue across most parts of the country today and tomorrow. Heavy rainfall and snowfall are likely in some areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, with very heavy precipitation possible at one or two locations. Some parts of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces may also experience heavy rainfall and snowfall.
In view of the adverse weather forecast, the division has advised farmers to avoid agricultural activities, particularly harvesting and bringing in paddy crops, today and tomorrow.
It has also urged tourists to exercise caution and avoid travelling to high-altitude and mountainous areas due to the risks of heavy snowfall, blizzards and avalanches. Tourists already in such areas have been advised to remain in safe locations until weather conditions improve.
The Division has further urged the general public and concerned authorities to remain alert and take necessary precautions, warning that rainfall could intensify cold conditions, trigger landslides in vulnerable areas and along roads, and disrupt daily activities, including road and air transportation.
