KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balen Shah has called a meeting of the National Security Council to discuss the recent incident in Sunsari and review the current security situation.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shah, will focus on the developments following clashes between two groups in Sunsari since Sunday evening. One person has died in the incident, while 24 others are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Biratnagar.
Several officials have already arrived to attend the council meeting, which was called by the Prime Minister, according to Prime Minister’s Press and Research Advisor Deepa Dahal.
The meeting is being attended by Defence Minister, Home Minister Sudan Gurung, Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle, Chief Secretary, Chief of Army Staff and Defence Secretary.
