Rima Bishwakarma accuses govt of blocking justice after complaint refused

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Rima Bishwakarma has accused the government of denying justice by refusing to register a complaint filed by a victim’s family.

Referring to an incident in Sindhuli, Bishwakarma said the police and the government attorney’s office declined to accept a formal complaint from the victim’s family.

“If even the complaint is not registered, how will people get justice?” she wrote on Facebook.

She warned that obstruction at the very first step of the legal process undermines public trust in state institutions. Bishwakarma also urged authorities not to protect the accused under political or other pressure and to immediately proceed with legal action.

Her remarks come after the family of a Dalit youth, Shreekrishna BK, who allegedly died in police custody in Sindhuli, claimed their complaint was not registered.
