KATHMANDU: The United States is providing additional DNA-testing supplies to Nepal Police to strengthen efforts to identify American citizens and other victims of the devastating floods in August.
FBI Assistant Law Enforcement Attaché Riley Palmertree received two shipments of DNA-testing supplies this week. The supplies were manufactured by US-based company Thermo Fisher Scientific.
The shipments are part of a $1 million US contribution to support Nepal’s Rapid DNA systems and help identify victims, providing answers to families awaiting news of their missing loved ones.
The United States continues to support Nepal’s flood response and recovery efforts, having provided more than $36 million in life-saving assistance and other disaster recovery support.
