Landslide blocks Mid-Hill Highway section in Lamjung

KATHMANDU: A landslide triggered by rainfall has obstructed a section of the Mid-Hill Highway in Lamjung, disrupting vehicular movement since Tuesday morning.

According to District Police Office Lamjung, the landslide occurred at Bimire Bhanjyang in Madhya Nepal Municipality–10, blocking the road.

Information officer Gyanendra Bahadur Kshetri said continuous rainfall since last night triggered the landslide, making it impossible for vehicles to operate along the route.

“Efforts are underway to clear the debris, but ongoing rainfall has delayed the process,” he said.

Police also said several streams along the road section are experiencing high water flow, further preventing the resumption of traffic.
