Bishwa Prakash Sharma says Nepali Congress transformed after Gen-Z movement

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said the party has successfully moved forward by transforming itself in the aftermath of the Gen-Z movement.

Speaking at an election-focused program organized by Nepali Congress Ramechhap in Kathmandu on Thursday, Sharma said the party has undergone transformation at every level, from leadership selection to the nomination of election candidates.

He said there was no room for the party to be trapped in internal dissatisfaction ahead of the House of Representatives elections.

Comparing the upcoming elections with the previous ones, Sharma noted that the party has fielded new faces in 106 out of the 165 constituencies. He added that the number of women candidates has also been increased this time and will be expanded further in the coming days.

Sharma claimed that the party leadership ensured a balanced and fair distribution of tickets by maintaining equilibrium among all factions within the party.

He also said that Nepali Congress has declared Gagan Thapa as its future prime ministerial candidate based on various criteria. Sharma added that if debates are held among prime ministerial contenders, the party is ready to present its candidate on any platform.

Vice President Sharma further directed party leaders and cadres to strictly implement the party’s code of conduct. He informed that the party’s election manifesto, carrying a clear vision for nation-building, will be made public soon.
